Small groups at Waterfront help us “Love God and People Well.”
To Love God and People Well, small groups are important to your walk with God. While the larger Waterfront community is important, small groups provide a smaller, more focused group to support and nurture your walk. To assure an open, honest, and loving environment, we agree to five qualities for each small group:
Priority: Group members will give priority to the group meeting, which allows for respect of everyone’s time and attention.
Confidentiality: Honest, open relationships must be guarded with an agreement of safety. What is said in group will remain confidential and will not be repeated elsewhere.
Truth and Teachability: Groups will create openness in their relationships. This promotes an honest look at who we really are with a teachable spirit to improve our ability to love God and people well.
Grandparenting: After the appropriate time, all groups will consider going from “parenting” to “grandparenting” (approximately 2 years).
Roles: Group members will seek to serve one another by sharing some of the following roles and responsibilities: hospitality (organizes refreshments), prayer (responsible for prayer requests), apprentice leader (has gone through Spiritual Selfie with pastoral staff).

We are a women’s Bible study small group that studies one book of the Bible each season (currently studying John). The purpose of our group is to study God’s Word and to allow God’s Word to get into us, thus increasing our individual capacity to love God and people well. Each week we have study questions based on Howard Hendricks’ approach to Bible study – 1) Observation, 2) Interpretation, and 3) Application. We have found that small group Bible study is a tremendous motivator to stay in God’s Word. During our discussion time, we learn from one another based upon our own individuality. We laugh a lot and enjoy immensely how God has wired each of us up to be unique. Through the study of God’s Word, we naturally form deep and meaningful relationships with one another.

We are a men’s Bible study small group that studies one book of the Bible each season (currently studying Ephesians). We discuss that day’s message to share our thoughts, ask questions, and reinforce the teaching. Our group is a place to get to know others and experience small group relationships, some of us for the first time.
