Jim Semradek
Hello, my name is Jim Semradek, and I was born and raised in the area, specifically in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. From a very early age I developed a passion for God and people. Over 20 years ago, 1996 to be specific, I felt called to the Chicago Northwestern Suburbs. Since that calling I served on staff at some great churches in the southern part of the United States. All the time, however, I continued to pray for God’s leading to return me to this area of the country. Then in 2008, God allowed me to come home and serve in my present role as Senior Pastor of Waterfront Community Church. One of the true joys of my life is helping folks love God and people well. Another true joy for me has been to watch my wife and our four kids grow deep roots deep in this part of the country. Over the last ten years my family has come to consider Waterfront not only our second home, but a community of people that we love regardless of the human imperfections we each possess. It is my hope that you experience Waterfront first hand and grow deep roots in the same way we have. My ultimate prayer for you is that some day as you reflect on your life, you will recall Waterfront as your second home where you increased your capacity to love God and people well.
At this point you are probably wondering about my background so a little bit about myself. I was ordained in 1993 after receiving my undergraduate degree in Pastoral Studies from Moody Bible Institute. In 2003, I earned two Masters Degrees – One in Biblical Studies and the second in Counseling, from Reformed Theological Seminary and Asbury Seminary. I am currently working towards my Doctorate of Ministry at Fuller University and plan to have this last leg of my education completed soon.
