Dangerous Prayers
We hope everyone had a great Easter! Even though life is different these days, God is in control, He is still alive, and He can be trusted for all eternity!
It was great to see how many of you were with s on Easter! We have an amazing God who has given us an amazing church with some amazing people like you! Let’s commit to be together every Sunday morning at 10am!
We are very excited for this Sunday as we start an extremely important series called DANGEROUS PRAYERS! More than ever before, the faithful should be in conversation with God on a consistent basis praying bold and even dangerous prayers. Over the next three weeks we are going to dive in asking God to change our prayer life!

Our service will be very similar to how we experienced Easter. Here is what you need to know:

- Don’t forget to “Like”, make comments, and “Share” with your friends. Also, during the service there are some fun interactive options for you to be a part of the service.
SPEAKING OF DANGEROUS PRAYERS
Last Sunday, Jim challenged us to pray some dangerous prayers and ask for God to eliminate COVID – 19. So many of you have signed up to be in one of the prayer groups. Way to go! If you missed out and you would like to be a part of the noon prayer, send “I’m IN” along with your name to 815-404-1903 and you can join and pray with us every day at noon.
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.

WELCOME TO GOOD FRIDAY
For those of you who were with us last Good Friday, you will remember the various experiences we had together. We received tons of feedback on how those experiences impacted your lives. This year, we are going to do something similar only we will do the experiences in our own homes. Here is what you will need to know:
- We are all going to gather, using Zoom conferencing (website or app).
- Before you “arrive” tonight. You will want to gather the following things:
-
- Communion elements – bread and juice
- Journal or Paper
- Pen
- Dice
- Something very heavy to lift
- Note card – to write a note to someone
- Post it notes
-
- If you are new to Zoom. Here is what you need to know:
-
- The best experience will be on a computer. However, you can use a tablet or phone as well.
- If you are using a computer, just click on the link below.
- If you are using a tablet or phone, you will have to download the Zoom App first.
-
- DO NOT WAIT UNTIL 6:30PM TO JOIN! Join early just in case you have any issues. We want to give you plenty of time to work them out.
- At 6:00pm we will open the site for people to join early and connect with others in virtual community. This will be like our lobby experience as we arrive at church!
- Right at 6:30pm, all of the microphones will be muted. Then, John will walk you through the experiences.
- After his explanation, you will have until 7:30pm to complete the activities as individuals or families. All ages can participate.
- At 7:30pm, everyone will rejoin the Zoom conference again. You do not have to sign out and sign back in as long as you leave your site open. However, it is OK if you choose to do so.
- At 7:30pm, John will guide us through a time of communion. Of course, you will need to provide your own bread and cup.

Happy Sunday Everyone!
Anyone need peace in their lives today? Today we are going to dive into Philippians chapter four as Paul teaches how to experience God’s peace.
So, here are your instructions:
- Open your Bible to Philippians chapter 4.
- Read verses 4 through 9. If you are with your family read this together.
- Watch the video describing this week’s experience. Click here for video.
- If you are by yourself, bring your journal or something to write on and go for a walk. Think through John’s message and answer the following questions. If you are with your family discuss what impacted you in the video and discuss the following together:
- John taught us in the video four letters to have God’s peace. Write them down. If you forgot, go back and review the video again.
- Then ask yourself, “When it comes to living in God’s peace, in what area am I doing well? And why?” Then go ahead and write that down.
- Then write down which one could use improvement in your life. And why?
- Now, what steps can you take today and in the very near future to experience God’s peace?
- Share any insights that you might have on Waterfront’s Facebook page (click here).
If you would like a handout as a guide for your experience, simply click here and print.
‘Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice! Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon. Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.’

To honor the wishes of our Governor and President,
we will not meet at our building on Sunday.
It’s Sunday Morning Everyone!
Coming off the momentum of last week’s great success, we have an opportunity this morning to truly be a church of community in the midst of quarantine. Today, I want you to engage James 1:2-5 to find who God is calling you to be in this time of opportunity.
So here are your instructions:
- Watch the video describing this week’s experience. Click here for video.
- Bring your Bible, your journal (or piece of paper), and get outside.
- Read James 1:2-5 and ask, “what goals can I set that would have me to emerge the person God wants me to be?”
- Make these goals SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, Timely) and place them somewhere in your home.
- Share your results on Waterfront’s Facebook page (click here).
If you would like a handout as a guide for your experience, simply click here and print.
The Bible says that life is short (James 4:14), and we should learn to number our days so that we can gain a heart of wisdom (Psalms 90:12). Today is a wonderful opportunity to ask God for wisdom (James 1:5) on the goals he has for your life…so that you can emerge from this season as the person God has made you to be!!!! Let’s go!
If you don’t have Facebook and want to post pictures and comments to the Waterfront Facebook Page, send them to John Angle at john@waterfrontcc.com.
Together,
Jim

I prayed quite a bit about the closure of the church building this week, and I believe God gave me an idea. Now as someone who is skeptical of new experiences, sometimes I need a good “why?”.
So, let me give you a good “why?” for this exercise: God has got our attention! God has got the attention of the whole world! The question: Will we turn to Him for answers?
The world is clearly looking for answers in the stock market, news media, scientists, Costco, and my favorite of all…toilet paper! But again, have we really taken an hour of time to hear from God? The Bible says we find Him when we search for Him with all of our heart! (Proverbs 2:1-6)
So, if you want to hear from God, let’s go through an exercise to hear from His words. Grab a Bible, a pen, a phone, and a blank 8 ½ x 11 piece of paper and click here for the 8-minute video.
If you would like a handout as a guide for your experience, simply click here and print.
You have one hour to complete this challenge. Be expectant of all that God will do, but also optimistic of what God does when his sons and daughters share their heartfelt experiences together.
Post your pictures on our Facebook page (click here) at 11:00 am!
Together,
Pastor Jim
