Our Children and Youth Ministry is divided into two main areas: Kids Cove, which is on Sunday mornings and serves infants through 6th grade, and Connect which serves middle school through high school and meets on Thursday evenings. At Waterfront, we provide a clean and safe environment for our children. We make both a high priority and take them very seriously. Everyone that serves with our children’s ministry are required to go through an application and background check process. We also have a secure check-in system for efficient drop-off and pick-up at classrooms. New volunteers are always welcomed.
Kids Cove is our Sunday morning ministry which serves kids from infants through 6th grade. We meet every Sunday morning following our corporate worship time. So while you parents get to listen to the message in the sanctuary, your kids meet for Bible study and then have fun activities that reinforce the Bible lesson for that week. We strive to create an atmosphere including our Lily Pad infants where each child can begin to feel who God is through songs, nurturing, and play. What better way to enjoy the service than knowing that your child is in a safe, clean, and fun environment managed by a team of experienced volunteers.
Kids Cove starts at approximately 10:25 AM and ends around 11:15 AM. Classrooms are divided on the basis of age: Lily Pad (infants through age 2), Friendship Beach (age 3 through kindergarten), Splash Pad (grades 1st through 3rd), and Big Wave (4th through 6th).
The Mission of Kids Cove is simple – we exist to help our kids “Love God and People Well.” We believe that life change occurs in the life of a child when the church and the family come together in partnership. Our Kids Cove leaders seek to develop personal relationships with each child’s family and encourage parents in the spiritual growth of their children. The leaders make it a priority to show up when scheduled to serve and each comes prepared to serve your children. Their number one goal is to lead by example and strive to model Jesus Christ in their actions and words. We make sure that Kids Cove is a safe place where kids are comfortable sharing openly and are accepted and loved. There is also continuity in the classes by our leaders serving in teams, with each team serving one month on and one month off.
We also have a security team which we call our Life Guards. They handle signing the kids in and making sure no unauthorized person enters the Kids Cove classrooms.

Middle School and High School Ministry Our greatest desire is to see students’ lives impacted by the love of Christ. We call ourselves Connect because our goal is to connect in three ways: Connect in healthy relationships with each other, Connect deeply with God, and Connect with those who are not a part of us… yet. Whether connecting through worship, experiencing community through groups, serving in the community, playing and praying together, or having fun at events/retreats, this is a place where every story matters as we seek to know Jesus more. We meet every Thursday from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at the church. For more info contact John at john@jims36.sg-host.com or 847-624-3531.
